DEATH 15 January 1931 at her residence at Clarence in her 72nd year. Buried at Church of England Cemetery, Osterley, on Saturday 17 January.
OBITUARY, Mercury Thursday 22 January 1931, p8. There was widespread regret when it was known that Mrs Selina Pearce, relict of the late David Pearce, of Osterley, had died. She and her husband settled in the district prior to the construction of the old Linda track, and many a weary traveller was assisted by this kind-hearted lady. Of late years her home was always spoken of as the accommodation house, where visitors and travellers were well cared for. The funeral was one of the largest ever seen at Osterley, the Rev. Mr Henslowe officiated at the church and the graveside. The arrangements were carried out by L Hanlon, of Ellendale. Mrs Cransfield presided at the organ in the church. The chief mourners were her sons, Sidney, Herbert, John and Frederick, and daughters, Mesdames Temple, Goodsell and Triffet.
