There were three sisters, Bridget, Ellen and Sarah and another child, Catherine, who was born either soon after arriving or onboard the Phoebe. They arrived on the Phoebe with their Mother Ann.
Eight days after arriving Bridget and Ellen were placed in the Orphan School, Sarah at a later date. Bridget was discharged to a Mr. Patrick Hill of New Norfolk on 24 Feb 1847. The census of 1848 shows that he was the proprietor of a wooden house with ten other people living there, seven free. There were two people between the age of 14 and 21; Bridget fits this group.
I have not been able to
find any other info about her, there is no other info about her in the family
notes. Sarah went by the name Archer and it is possible that Ellen also changed her
name to Archer as Ellen was discharged to her mother Ann one month after Ann and
Robert Archer were married; Bridget. Ellen and Sarah's Father was Patrick Ryan,
Ann's maiden name was Quirk.
