Frederick Smith was born in England in 1852 and came with his mother Hannah Smith (nee Churchill) and seven other siblings on the Great Tasmania ship as bounty immigrants and arrived at Hobart Town Australia on 27 January 1857.  On the 12 December 1857 he was admitted to the Queens Orphanage along with his sisters Mary Ann, Rosannah, he was discharged into the care of his mother Hanna Smith (who married George Atchison on 5 January 1859), on the 24 January 1860.

Research has Frederick's parents as Hannah Churchill and Joseph Smith. I have no further information on Frederick and I am still researching him.

Frederick Smith is my great grandmother, Rosannah Smith's younger brother. He was named after an older brother (Frederick) who had died in England the year before.

I don't know anymore about him than what Vicki has written.
