Jane Mahoney was the daughter of Bridget Mahoney and Michael O'Brien. Bridget arrived on the Blackfriar and ten months later had her first child, Mary Ann. Jane must have been placed in QOS because her mother was serving her sentence. I don't know about Mary Ann (born 1852). Bridget and Michael had seven children altogether (three survived to adulthood) and Michael died after falling into a quarry in Hobart on 31 May 1877.
Bridget and Michael are my great great grandparents. Their second daughter Bridget Mary (k.a. Clara) was my great grandmother on maternal side. I do not know how Michael arrived in VDL (he was born in Ireland ca 1817; Bridget was born in Cork City, Cork, Ireland in 1829.
