Philip Richards was the first born child to my g/g/grandparents (Catherine Richards & Philip Joseph) in June 1827.

Both his parents were convicts and were married in 1828. Catherine & Philip, from all accounts, experienced a lot of disharmony in their marriage.

My g/grandfather Moses Joseph was also born to Catherine and Philip in May 1832.

Catherine was in and out of Georgetown Female factory, Philip & Catherine eventually separating.

It is wonderful that I have been able to discover anything about  Philip and for him to be recognised,  although he was only 3 years of age when he was placed in Queens Orphan School.

It now makes me curious as to what happened to him after that time ......

It is fantastic Philip Jnr has been found. I'm currently searching for what may have become of him. Unfortunately the Trinity Cemetery in New Town has since been removed including remains (circa 1963) to Cornelian Bay in the Church Of England section. Some burials prior to 1833 were in a Catholic Church as the orphanage wasn't yet built when Philip was admitted. He wouldve been housed in the disused distillery nearby. I await any further information!
