Alice Maria Sullivan was the daughter of Thomas Sullivan and Ann Carton who were both convicts and married 1850 in Bothwell. Ann Carton could not write so her surname is spelt many different ways according to how others thought it sounded e.g. Carten/Cartin/Karten/ Carden/ Caston/ Cotter/ Carter..   4 of the children were admitted in 1859 .. Alice Maria Sullivan married James Alexander Pearce (3 children?) then later moved to Sydney & Victoria ...living with Jean Max Ludolff (3 children)
